This paper is focused on the participation of the British Commonwealth’s representatives in the Allied Council for Japan, a consulting body created in the aftermath of the 1945 Moscow Meeting. It reflects the position of British representatives on the postwar arrangement of Japan, their relationships with American authorities and the Soviet representative.
