THE INSTITUTE OF NATIONAL REPRESENTATIVE OFFICES OF SOVIET AUTONOMIES OF THE NORTHERN CAUCASUS, SOUTH SIBERIA, BURYAT-MONGOLIA: TO THE HISTORIOGRAPHY OF THE ISSUE

The article analyzes the degree to which the issue of the formation of the institution of national missions in the 1920s – 1930s is studied. The article identifies aspects of the problem, traces individual stages of the historiography of the activities of the National Commissariat for Nationalities (Narkomnats) of the RSFSR. Particular attention is paid to the regional research problems, in particular to the literature characterizing the essence and results of the work of national missions in the Soviet autonomies of the North Caucasus, South Siberia, and the Buryat-Mongolian Republic. It touches upon modern scientific studies highlighting the influence of the mechanisms of power of a socialist state in the field of national politics.
