THE CHINESE MIRROR FROM THE 47TH BURIAL OF THE NUR-TUKHUM CEMETERY

In 2017, a fragment of a Chinese bronze mirror of the TLV-type was found in the burial no. 47 of the first point of the Nur-Tukhum cemetery. On the ornamental field of the mirror are fixed T, L and V-shaped signs, as well as images of fantastic creatures. Time being mirror of this type – I–II centuries AD. Analogy these mirrors are available in the funerary complexes of I’lmovaya pad’, Cheryomukhovaya pad’ and Enkhor. The fragmentation of the mirror indicates a special rite in the framework of the funeral ceremony. The mirror acts as a link between the world of the living and the world of the dead.
