TITLES OF IMPERIAL PRINCES IN THE “TRUTHFUL RECORD ABOUT THE MONGOLS OF QING EMPIRE”

Sundueva E. V.

The paper deals with the Mongolian titles of the immediate family members of Manchu governors Hong Taiji and Shunzhi containing a lexeme ǰasaγ-un in comparison with their Chinese variants. The lexeme ǰasaγ-un as an indicator of belonging to the top class in the Chinese translation of the written monument is presented by transliteration of Manchurian word (和硕 héshuòhoshoi). However as a part of the appointment names ǰasaγ-un darqan and ǰasaγ-un dügüreng it preserves Mongolian phonetic image. It is revealed that epithets of titles of Manchurian princes are given in translation into Chinese while epithets of titles
of Mongolian princes are given in a transcription both from Mongolian, and from Manchurian languages. Studying of this layer
of lexicon allows tracking its functioning in the Mongolian and Chinese office-work at the considered stage of development
of Manchurian society.
