Nanzatov B. Z, Sodnompilova M. M.

This article continues the series of works devoted to the study of the ethnic composition of the Buryat departments of the 19th century. The largest department in terms of population was the Selenga Steppe Duma. This article presents the ethnic composition of the population settled in the lower reaches of the Chikoi and Khilok rivers of this department. The ethnic composition of this Buryat group shows that the indicated population has absorbed various ethnic elements from different parts of Mongolia and Buryatia. The basis of the population of this part of the Selenga Buryats was Tabagshuts, Tsongols, Ashibagats and Kharanuts.
