The article publishes the documents of the F. R-250 Foundation “Buryat-Mongolian Representative Office under the Presidium
of the RSFSR All-Russian Central Executive Committee in Moscow” of the State Archive of the Republic of Buryatia, which traces the first steps of the leadership of the Buryat-Mongolian ASSR on the issue of conducting comprehensive research of the republic. Archival documents characterize the scale and directions of the alleged scientific research of the republic in the preparatory period in 1925–1926.
