The article presents a selection of documents from the fund of the State Archive of the Republic of Buryatia F. R-250 “Buryat-Mongolian Representation under the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the RSFSR in Moscow”, which discusses materials and research plans of the Buryat-Mongolian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, prepared by the Special Committee for the Study of Union and autonomous republics of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The archival documents reflect the problems that exist in a number of sectors of the economy of the republic, describe the directions in the study of population, climate, vegetation, fur and hunting.
