REFLECTIONS ON THE ANNIVERSARY: PROBLEMS OF THE REPRESENTATION OF THE 400-YEAR HISTORY OF NOVOKUZNETSK BY THE CITY MUSEUMS

The article analyzes the expositional activity of two museums in the city of Novokuznetsk, the local lore museum and the Kuznetskaya Krepost museum-preserve, from the point of view of their participation in the construction of a socially-oriented picture of the past and the formation of collective memory. The possibilities of the municipal museum in the implementation of modern conceptual approaches and the use of new museum technologies for the representation of history are considered.
