Attention is paid to the activities of governor general in foreign policy. The features of the implementation of foreign policy tasks in the Amur Region and Trans-Baikal Region are determined. It was established that the actions of governors-general were controversial. The judgment is substantiated that the inconsistency of national and geopolitical interests influenced the activities of local authorities.
