NOTES ON THE VOLOST BOARDS OF BURYATS OF THE IRKUTSK PROVINCE

The article touches upon the issues of organization and activities of the volost boards of the Buryats of the Irkutsk province (1912–1917). The author presents materials that reveal certain aspects of the functioning of local Buryat self-government bodies. It is shown that despite the unification, the foreign volost management of the Buryats had a number of peculiarities due to the specifics of the economy and socio-cultural factors.
