The article presents a selection of documents from the funds of the State Archives of the Republic of Buryatia R-477 “Revolutionary Committee of the Buryat-Mongolian Autonomous Region of the RSFSR”, R-408 “Central Council on cultural affairs of the Buryat-Mongolian RSFSR and the Far Eastern Republic (Burmonsovkud)”, R-60 “Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Buryatia”, which examines the history of the Buryat-Mongolian Council for Cultural Affairs of the RSFSR and the Far Eastern Republic (Burmonsovkud). Archival documents characterize the conditions for the formation of Burmonsovkud and highlight the activities of the Buryat-Mongolian Mission to the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the RSFSR in this direction.
