A HISTORY OF ONE UNREALIZED PUBLICATION: CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN ACADEMICIAN BYAMBYN RINCHEN AND DR. REGBI PUBAEV

The article publishes thirteen letters between academician Byambyn Rinchen and Dr. Regbi Pubaev during 1967–1971. The main content of the correspondence is the translation of the “Records of the Buddhist Kingdoms” by the Chinese Buddhist monk Fa Xian from French into Mongolian vertical script, made by the first Buryat scholar Dorzhi Banzarov. An introduction to the correspondence shows the issue’s history and its importance for the Mongolian Studies.
